Local is lekker and even more so if you can enjoy local musicians with your favourite people.
The Huawei K-Day was hosted at Meerendal Wine Estate and I spoke to Erin Lambert, who attended K-Day on Saturday 4 March and she could not stop talking.
“K-Day was fantastic! I have never experienced such a big show so well organised,” Erin said.
Fifteen thousand happy faces. Doing a record rain dance (was it successful?).
“The event was child friendly, there were families everywhere having fun. The toilets were clean, no long queues and the music was awesome.”
With a line-up including Locnville, Sketchy Bongo, DJ Kent (who played all the old school and ’80’s songs), Goodluck (who announced their International recording deal at K- Day), Kyle Deutsch, Mi Casa, Jimmy Nevis, Matthew Mole, Shekhinah and Euphonik it is bound to be entertaining and a huge success.
You could take your own picnic baskets and non-alcoholic beverages, all alcohol had to be purchased at Meerendal.
“There were even a couple who got engaged right there in the middle of all the picnic blankets,” Erin said.
It seems like we missed out on a great day!
Well done to KFM and Meerendal and congratulations the newly engaged couple!!!
